FRENCH RAIL-CAR
BREAKS SPEED RECORD PARIS, Dec. 9. France's latest rail-car, fitted with a 500-h.p. Renault engine, came to rest in the Gate do I'Est in Paris after completing a 685-mile run in Bhrs. 2min. Company officials on board claimed that all world's records for rail travel over long distances had been smashed. The. trip was 't circular one, Paiis-Nancy-Strasbourg-Mulhouse-Paris, and was covered at an average of 85 miles per hour. The maximum speed allowed was 93 miles per hour. The rail-car has accommodation for 70 passengers.
