POSED AS DOCTOR

BAKER TREATS WOMEN IMPERSONATED CONSTABLE SYDNEY, Jan. 16. Posing as a doctor, Henry James Huegill, 28, baker, became engaged to a girl, treated three women at a dance at Uondi, and visited the Far West home and the Central District Ambulance, according to Detective Miles at Kogarah Court to-day. Huegill, who, according to Mr. Stevenson, S.M., seemed to have "a peculiar complex," was fined £2O I'oi having used the title of doctor when be was not a registered medical practitioner. He was also fined £3 on a charge of having bad in Ids possession stethoscopes reasonably suspected oJ having been stolen. Detective Miles said that Huegill introduced himself as doctor when be attended a dance at Bondi on New Year's Eve. There he treated three women who were undar the influence of liquor. On January 1 he went to the Far West home at Manly and introduced himself to Mr. Drummond as "Dv. Huegill," of Kogarah, and when leaving signed the visitors' book. On the following day he went to the Centra District. Ambulance and there said he was "Dr. Reynolds," of Bulli, added Detective Miles.

"He became engaged to a young woman at Canterbury and told her that he was 'Dr. Huegill,"' of Bulli, and that he was buying Dr. Stafford's practice at Kogarah for £2000," continued the detective.

The police prosecutor, Constable MeAuley, said that Huegill had been previously convicted for having impersonated a police constable, and had also been sent to gaol for false pretences. Huegill was also charged with havinp obtained £1 from Alice Catherine Mansfield by falsely pretending that he was a doctor and had bought Dr. Stafford's practice at Kogaruh for £2OOO. The pretty young prosecutrix, after stating that she had given Huegill money, stated in the. witness-box that she did not wish to proceed any further with the charge. Huegill was discharged.
