GISBORNE DEFENCE CLUB JANUARY COMPETITION The final shoot in the Gisborne Defence Rifle Club's January Handicap competition took place at Mangupapa on Saturday over the 500yds and 600yds ranees, when W. Ellis secured first place with a total of 95, including a handicap of three, while G. Woottou was next with 95, including a handicap of eight. T. Herivel, G. Holmes and R. Bull scored 94, with handicaps of four, nine, and two points respectively. K, Hull topped the list at 500yds with a score of 48 out of a possible of 50, and I. llerivel's 46 was the highest score at the longer range. The monthly handicap competition oi 10 shots at 200, 300, 500 and 600yds was won, as a result of the final shoot last week, by L. Franklin with a gross aggregate of 191, K. Hull being second with 190, handicap two, and W. Ellis third, also 190, handicap five. Detailed results of the final shoot were: W. Ellis, 500yds 46, 600yds 46 (handicap 3), total 95; G. Wootton, 46, 42 (8), 95; T. Herivel. 44, 46 (4), 94; G. Holmes. 45, 40 (9), 94; R. Bull, 48, 44 (2), 94;' C. Home, 43, 42 (7), 92; F. J. Jeune. 47, 45 (scr.), 92; P. Foss, 38, 39 (14), 91: A. Ford, 41. 46 (2), 89; C Uoyd, 36, 39 (12), 87. Detailed results of the first 10 places of the January aggregate competition were: L. Franklin. 200 and 300yds 95, 500 and 600yds 91 (handicap 5), total 191; R. Bull', 94, 94 (2), 190; W. Ellis, 93, 92 (5), 190- O. Holmes, 89. 85 (16), 190; T. Herivel. 93, 90 (6), 189; F. J. With four months of the clubs programme completed, the five, leading aggregates in the championship aggregate for the Barry Gup are: F. J. Jeune 766, R. Bull 749,' W. Ellis 728, A. Ford 720, and C.
