MONDAY'S CARNIVAL HASTINGS TEAM'S VISIT Who will lie the holders of the Ferguson Cup for the present season? This question will be settled at the Macrae Bath on Monday evening, when the learn of swimmers and divers from the Heretauuga club, Hastings will try to wrest the trophy from the Gishorne club.

The team selected by the visitors is a particularly strong one and the local competitors are fully aware of the task ahead of them. With swimmers liko Dodgslum and divers of the calibre of Wall, however, they should: be able to give, a good account of themselves. The competition is held annually between the two clubs and to date has resulted in a win each season for the home team. which is regarded as a good omen for the Gisborne team. Included in the visiting team will be W. Farrell, ex-Auck-land record and title holder and present Hawke's Bay record and title holder. The diving should be well worth watching with Wall and Terry. Gisborne, and Wright and Thurlow, Hastings, giving exhibitions of all the Jilles.t dives. Wall has been nominated for the New Zealand championships at Dunedin and will be out. therefore, to justify his nomination.

The game of water polo between the iv.-o clubs always has been of a high standard and this year should be no exception. The carnival will commence sharp on time and officials have been asked to be at the baths early.
