CEREMONY AT TOLAGA BAY LARGE GATHERING (Special to the Herald.) TOLAGA BAY, this day. -. There was a representative gathering y*the Uawa County Chambers, this morning when the proclamation was read by Mr. J. McNeill. It wasi estimated that there were over 100 citizens present, members of the council representatives of the Returned Soldiers' Association, and school children were in attendance. Owing to the heavy rain, several settlers in the surrounding district were unable to be present. After the reading, the attendance joined in singing the National Anthem, and three cheers were given for the new King, Edward VIII. Mr. McNeill then raised the Union Jack to the top of the mast

GATHERING AT MAKARAKA COOK COUNTY OBSERVANCE The proclamation was read in the Cook County by the county chairman, Or. Charles Matthews, before a representative gathering in the MakarakaMatawhero Hall, including many ladies. Despite the rain, the attendance totalled between 30 and 40.

The County Council was represented by Or. Charles Matthews, chairman, Crs. F. R. Bowen, J. C. N. Thomas, S. T. Gray and W. G. Sherratt, and the County clerk, M* F. T. Robinson. At the close of the reading of the document, the gathering sang the National Anthem, concluding a brief though impressive ceremony.
