Owing to the death of (he King, the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club’s floodlight sports meeting which was to have been held this evening has been postponed. Mi* Sarah Elizabeth Arthur, the daughter of a pioneer missionary, the Rev. Thomas .Buddie, died at Auckland on Sunday in her 93rd year. Mrs Art Imi' was born at a mission station on the Waipa River, near Pirongia. She was married in 1854 to Mr Arthur, founder of the well-known Auckland auctioneering lirm. Mr Arthur died over 40 years ago. Mrs Arthur for many years attended the l’iti Street Methodist Church.
