CHILD'S BODY FOUND
DROWNED IN RIVER The body of Peter Martin, a child aged three years, who was missing from his home at Karioi, near Ohakune, Wanganui district, on January 15, was found on the following day after dragging operations in the llangiwaea River.
Detective J. Murray, of Wanganui, and Constable S. J. Frost, of Ohakune, were in charge of the search for the hoy, who it was' thought, had slipped into the river, which was in flood. The body was found six chains away from where marks indicated the boy had been playing. At an inquest held before Mr. Edgar Larkin, J.P., and a jury of four, a verdict of accidental drowning was returned. Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Martin, of Kagioi, were the child's parents,.
