ROWING
POVERTY BAY CLUB PAIR-OAR CREWS A meeting of the committee of the Poverty Bay Bowing Club was held in the clubhouse lust evening. There' were present Messrs A. Kirk, in the chair, B. Neilson, J. Webb, W. McLeod, G. Glover, T. Munro, H. Warren,- G. A rden, A. Jukes, J. Bacon and R. Webb.
A letter was received from Mr G.. Graham, of the Caledonian Hotel, Napier, advising that sufficient accommodation for members could be had. during the stay for the regatta. The Napier 'club also advised that there would be sufficient housing for the boats in its clubhouse. Two challenges were received to two of the selected crews. A crew consisting of W.. Glover (str.), K. Muir, K. Harris and F. Newman has challenged . the selected maiden crew, comprising L. Neilson (str.), 11. Duckworth, C. Smytlie and P. McMahon. This race will take place on Saturday evening, January 2d. The selected 10,st pair, Iv. Harris (str.) and F. Newman, have been challenged bv G. Arden (str.) and A. Richardson. This race will take place on Friday evening, January 24. The nomination list for the forthcoming pair-oar event closed with 17 crews. These races will commence on Wednesday, February 5.’ The crews are as follow: G. Ardern (str.) and A. Richardson; T. Stevens (str.) and R. Patty; R. Mitchell (str.) and F. Gardner; I. Stevens (str.) and A. Gardner; J. Walworth (str.) and J. McCullough; J. Green (str.) and G. Hadwen; D. Brown (str.) and A. Kearns; W. Elliot (str. ) and A. Baker; A. Poole (str.) and R. Heffer; K. Harris (str.) and F. Newman; W. Glover (str.) and K. Muir; R. Neilson (str.) and H. Duckworth; J. Stephens (str.) and S. Attwood; A. Jukes (str.) arid M. Varley; C. Smythe (str.) P. McMahon; T. Munro (str.) and N. Warren; W. McLeod (str.) and J. Bacon.
