BUILDING AT KAITI DEDICATION IN MARCH A new .Maori church is being built m Kaiti, and should he completed next month in ample time for dedication in March. its name will he Tokotorn Tapu. the Maori equivalent to the Holy Trinity. Tim building is of reinforced concrete, making it. among the strongest earthquake resisting places in town. It lias been prepared to seat. ICO people. The cost, is in the vicinity of £I4OO. including a stained glass window, which will portray the figure of Jesus Christ,. The window is being made in New Zealand,
The foundation stone was laid on January 10 by Dr. it. W. Williams. Bishop of Waiapu, and during his remarks lie congratulated the Maori people on their enterprise in securing the erection of the church, at Die same time hoping tlio church would he used as freely as it ought.
The dedication ceremony will take place in mid-March on a date fo be arranged. The Maori Synod wdl lie held at Maiuituke at, that, time, and opportunity will be taken to perforin the dedication of Tokotorn Tapu during that period.
