Kivers,’and Airs. D. Busl.iy. Tile evening was perfect, and all was in tins dancers' favor. The stage was lieaut.il'iilly decorated with large bowls ol deep blue hydrangea. A delicious savory iiand-ruunit supper was served by Ute Hostesses, inspiring dance music was supplied by tiie Night (Jwl Ui'cliestra from Ruatoria, while a much appreciated extra was played by Air. Harry Beale. Dancing continued until the early hours of the. morning, when the singing of “God .Save the King” brought, a very happy evening to a. conclusion.

Busby, have returned to town.—Mr. and Mrs. IC. Lumbe, who have been the guests of Mrs. Busby, “Rahiri,” Tokomaru Bay. intend motoring to Taupo and Rotorua before returning to their home at Fern-hill.—-Aliss Jean Wilson, who has been the guest of Aliss Jocelyn Ludbrook, Ruatoria, for the past three months, has returned to Hastings.—Mr. and Airs R. 11. Wicksteed, “Otuarau,” Ruatoria, were recent visitors to Gisborne.—Air. J. Martin, who has been a guest at the Te Puia Springs Hotel, returned to Gisborno to-day.—Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Barry have returned to Gisborne after a short- stay at the To Puia Springs Hotel. —Mrs. Hankey. Auckland, was the guest of Airs. K. Itoskrugc, Tokomaru Bay, during the visit of the H.AT.S. Wellington. Her husband is chief officer on the ship.—Airs. Swan and her son, Colin, who spent a week at the Te Puia Springs Hotel, has returned to Gisborne. —Mr. and Airs. Stappo, Gisborne, are guests at the Te Puia Springs Hotel Alatrou Croft, who has been the guest of Airs. P. G. Burton. Ruatoria, lias returned to Napier.—Airs. J. D. AtacDonald, Gisborne, paid a brief visit, to tho Coast last week.—Alis-s Patterson, who lias been visiting friends on 1 lie Coast., has returned to Napier.
