(Herald, Correspondent.) e The committee of the Ruatoria branch of the Children’s Health Campaign movement met on Saturday. The treasurer presented the accounts of the gala afternoon held at Whakarun Park on Saturday, October 26, the net result being a credit balance of £3B 3s ijd. The control of the funds for disbursement purposes by the Chief Postmaster, Gisborne, under the centralisa-tion-in-Gisborne scheme, was approved. Although the primary object for which the committee was formed—the holding of an afternoon for the raising of funds —has been achieved, it was agreed that the committee should continue to function, and that it meet, as required, to consider matters of interest to it, It was generally agreed' thjvt fh>e afternoon Was a distinct success. It provided healthy fun for those who attended, at the same time providing necessary funds for a worthy object. The bolding of a similar function is far from being an improbability, so popular was the afternoon.
