MAORI YOUTH KILLED
HIT BY TRUCK ON ROAD ROTORUA FATALITY (Per Press Association.) ROTORUA, last night. Fatal injuries were received by a native named liaira Wharcaitu, aged 18 years, when he was struck by a truck while running across tlie roadway in the vicinity of Whakavewnrewa late tins afternoon. W. Costello, the driver, swerved the truck sharply in ail effort, to avoid an accident, but Wharcaitu was struck, and received severe head injuries. Abe' receiving attention from a doctor he was ordered into the public hospital, but died before admittance.
