“JEKYLL AND HYDE” REGULAR TECHNIQUE SYDNEY, Dec. 20. Described by Judge, Sheridan as having led a Jckyll and Hyde life, Robert Oliver, 18," clerk, of Ilarbord, was sentenced to-day to imprisonment for two years. Oliver pleaded guilty to three charges of breaking and entering shops at Manly. It, was stated that lie was ip employment at £3 a week, and when a, testimonial to his character from his employers was presented, Judge Sheridan remarked that the case had no redeeming feature. “You were working satisfactorily by day and a thief at night,” said Judge Sheridan. “The statement you have, given of your past activities shows you have made a regular business of breaking and entering.” ■ Police stated that Oliver had given every assistance when arrested. Judge Sheridan : They all do it. That is the regular, technique. When Oliver’s father said he intended taking his son to South Australia at the expiry of the sentence, Judge Sheridan recommended his release on license at the end of three monlbs.
