FOURTH ROUND GAMES PURDY IN THE LEAD (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. After Saturday night’s play in the chess championship, in the fourth round, Severne drew with Erskine, Kelling beat Beyer and Rutherford drew with Dyer, the other games being unfinished. In the minor tournament, Langley beat. Stewart, and Wall beat; Anderson. Tn the ladies’ tournament, Mrs Abbott heat Mrs Goldsmith. The position of players at the end of the fourth session of the championship is as follows:
