Cattle Sales in Waikato
TT is estimated that about 7000 head 1 of cattle -were yarded at the stock sales held ul Morriilsvillc .611 the live Fridays in November. -
About half of this tolal consisted of the usual fat, store arid dairy cattle vended by district fanners, and the other half comprised store cattle that had arrived in special stock trains from the Kast Coast railway and from other store stock districts*. Three stock auctioneering companies have 1 n operating at Morritisville every Kriday since the beginning of the year, ami large yardings of all classes of slo'd; have 'been the rule. Among the Kast Coast store cattle were many lines of steers suitable for fattening for the chilled beef trade, iiii.l these were eagerly sought after by graziers from all parts of the Waikain, this fact accounting for the large al tendances of buyers.
The central position of Morrinsville as ;i stock-selling market- is now* realised by slock agents, and the yarding accommodation has been doubled during the past year to cope with the demand. .-■ . . ■ -.--
