ENTREPRENEURS AT LAW CONSENT JUDGMENT' MELBOURNE," Oct,. 26. i Tti the Practice Court to-day, the Chief Justice, Sir Frederick Maim, was asked to make an order \n relation, to the sharing of losses on the production of certain plays. "The action was brought by J. C. Williamson, against Richard White, of George street, Sydney, and Eric Edgley White, formerly of Sydney but now of Mel? bourne, iand formerly'carrying on business under the name of White and Edgley. There was no appearance for the defendants. ~ It was stated in the. writ that, by an agreement dated June 21, 1929, the defendants agreed to produce certain plays in eon.jnn.ction with the plaintiffs. The plavs were produced at. a loss of £ll,24o,"which had been borne and paid by the plaintiffs, whereas the agreement was that any loss should be borne equally. The defendants? portion of the loss .was, £fi()2o. Of the amounts set out as the defendants' share of the doss, plaintiffs had .received £292<5 ;and plaintiffs now claimed
Mr Mitchell asked the Chief Justice to enter judgment, hy. consent, for plaintiffs as against Eric Edgley White for £loo2, Ills' client did riot ask for costs. Judgment was entered for the amount; stated.
