A BABY LAUGHS―
AND ADOPTS A PREMIER ST. THOMAS (Ontario), June b. Mr. M. F. Hepburn, Prime Minister of Ontario, has adopted a baby boy. And when he can find a, suitable coinpaniou for him he is going to adopt a baby girl. There is tragedy behind this romance. Mr. and Mrs. Hepburn had two children —a boy and a girl. Both died in infancy. Recently the Public Welfare Department here began an Adopt-a-Cbild Campaign. The Prime Minister consulted with Mrs. Hepburn. What better example could they set than to do something which would replace the empty places in their lives? They told the department the kind of children they wanted. They dcscrib eel. in fact, their two lost babies. And in a children’s shelter they round Blue-eyed, fair-haired, he laughed up at the Hepburns. . "That’s the hoy,” said the Prime Minister. But it was really a case ot : Peter adopting the Hepburns. <
