MURDER ALLEGATION

POISON CHOCOLATE CASE THE BLACKBALL TRAGEDY HEARING STARTS TO-DAY (Per Press Association.) GBEYMOUTH, this day. At the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, John Skikelthorp Page will be charged with the murder of Margaret May Smith, 22, at Blackball, on September 24 of last year, and the attempted murder of Ethel Bragg and Jean Clark. Miss Smith died after eating chocolates posted anonymously to Misses Bragg and Clark. It ,1s alleged that chocolates were poisoned' and sent by Page. Inspector D. Cameron is conducting the case for the Crown, and Mr. A. H. Paterson will appear .for the accused. Fifty-eight witnesses will be called by the Crown, and the proceedings are expected to occupy a weex.
