OBITUARY
MRS. J. M. WHITE A resident of tliis district- for more than 50 years, Mrs. .1. M. White, died, at her home in Lytton road yesterday, aged 84 years. Travelling out- to New Zealand with her husband in the ship .Clarence, deceased landed at. Napier in 1874. Sn» resided in llawke’s Bay for 10 years and then came to Poverty Bay, where her husband took up land at Ormond and conducted an orchard and hops garden. They also had a property at Alatawai, which was worked by the sons. In later years owing to the- ill-health of Air. White, they removed to Gisborne. Deep sympathy will bo, expressed 1 by the many' friends of the family. All 1 . White is survived by six: sons. Mr. James White, Feilcling, Air. William llenrv White, Camara, Air. George White, Pulia, Mr. Charles Phillips White, Matawai, and Air. Albert Edward White, Waipaoa, and five daughters, Airs. Alfred Hodge, To Karaka, Mrs. E. File, Lyndhurst street, Gisborne. Mrs. ,1. El win, Bunnythorpe, Airs. D. Beattie, Ormond, and Airs. A. Dyer, Buatoria. There are also 39 grandchildren and 14 great-grand-children. The funeral will leave deceased’s late, residence at 2 p.ui, to-morrow for Tarnhe.ru cemetery.
