The spreading chestnut tree is not altogether suitable for planting in streets because of the damage which trees sustain through small boys breaking the branches while in quest of green 'chestnuts. This opinion was expressed at the annual meeting of the Morrinsville Beautifying Society. In the Dunedin Police Court, Roy Gordon Capel, 24, pleaded not guilty to a charge that on April 4, at Eltham, with intent to defraud, lie obtained from Arthur White Pickard £5 17s 8d by falsely representing that an Auckland firm had entered into a contract to advertise its business in the Eltham Argus and !
