POVERTY BAY GOLF CLUB

SATURDAY’S RESULTS TOURNAMENT PLAY Wet weather did not- affect play in the Poverty Bay Bolf Club’s A and B tournaments on Saturday and the first round was completed. The sandy nature of the soil in the locality of the Awapuni links allows the water to get away and makes play possible under almost any conditions. Wellington clubs are not so fortunate in this respect as with the continued heavy rain their links have become very heavy and reports have been received that players are permitted to tee up on all fairways.
