ALTAR CARPET STOLEN
" TONffON, June 3. A valuable carpet in front of the high altar and two silver cups have disappeared from SI. Augustine’s Church. Kilburn, i\LVV. “Thefts from churches arc becoming common,” Captain E. Nicholson, the churchwarden, said to a press representative. “We do not- believe that the disappearances of the carpet and the cups are connected.”" Police are investigating the thefts. "
