POVERTY BAY SHOW THREE-YEAR BULLOCKS Arrangements are being made hv the Poverty Hay A. and P. Association to stage a chilled beef, class for a 3-yoar bullock at the Show in October. (iisborue is not yet able to participate in the chilled beef industry m view of the open roadstead loading, but the inclusion of a class at the Show is a move to prepare lor the day when chilled exports from (lisborue will Impossible. ; The schedule committee submitted the following recommendation for approval 1 : "That the following class be approved : Bullock suitable for chilled beef, bom since July L 1932, not to exceed SOQlbs. in the opinion of the judge, any recognised beef breed or beef breed cross, the breed to be stated on the entry form and whether polled or homed. In describing crossbred exhibits the sire must be stated first, i.e., Hereford x Abcrdeen-Angus, where the sire is Hereford and dam AberdcenAngus. Exhibits must bo fed under mutual conditions, the feed being confined to grass, hay, ensilage, and roots; stall feeding with grain is not allowed. ’I he exhibits will be judged on-the hoof and again when dressed, and prizes awarded for each judging. Cups, to be Won three times, will be provided for the first prize award on each judging, and the conditions of the competition may lie varied from time to time, the question of - cash • prizes -and entry .fee to he referred to the general commitlee.” The recommendation-was,- adopted.
