NOTED NAVAL OFFICER CRASH INTO TREE i Klee. Tel. Copyright— Unite.! Press Aasn.i (Received Julv 29, 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. Vice-Admiral K. Astley-Rusliton, commander of the ILM.A.S. Melbourne from 1910 to 1919. crashed into a tree while motoring alone and was killed instantly.
Born in 1879, the kite Admiral Astlcy-Rushton entered the navy as a youth, and on the outbreak of was was commanding 11.M.A.5. Melbourne. He fought at. Heligoland, Dogger Bank and Jutland, being mentioned in despatches. After the war he was engaged on stall duties at the Admiralty, and in 192.7 was appointed to the command of H.M.S. Malaya.
