EXPORT OF STUD SHEEP SOUTH AMERICAN ORDERS The shipment of a valuable consignment. of stud sheep to South America by tiie Westmoreland, which left Auckland last week, is of more than usual interest to the Gisborne district in view of the fact that, six Lincoln rains have been purchased from a Gisborne breeder. Mr O'. V." Smith, for shipment to the ■same destination next October. Last week’s shipment comprised 44 stud rams of various breeds, some, for the Argentine and some for 1 rngiuiy. and were an outstanding lot. It included 10 Corriedale rams bred by Mr Wm. Anderson. North Canterbury. The 25 Lincoln rams arc an exceptionally good lot. .10 of them having been bred by Mr E. T. Wilton. Rangiluinaii, Masterton, three bred by Mr A. E. Anderson. 'Sheep from these breeders’ flocks arc well-known in South America and the. steady demand for them from there testifies that they are held in high regard. The shipment is completed by three high class Merino rams bred by the well-known South Canterbury breeder. Mr Frank 11. Smith. “Wnrntali.’’ Alluivy. “FOXTON” WOOLPACKS WOOL FEDERATION ACCEPTANCE An item of commercial news ol' considerable interest to farmers has been circulated by New Zealand Woolpacks and Textiles, Limited, Wellington, manufacturers of the “Foxon’’ tlaxffibric woolpack. The information relates to the acceptance by the British Wool Federation of the New Zealand product, and the removal of objections previously held in regard to the use of this pack. Some consternation was' caused a few months ago by the issue of a statement from Bradford to the effect that tlie New Zealand pack had been found not acceptable to the British Wool Federation, though previously both the New Zealand Woolbuyers’ Association and tlie Wool brokers’ Association in Christ church had both expressed complete satisfaction with the Dominion product. To remove causes of misapprehension on the part ot the British members of the wool trade,* a representative of the New Zealand company was sent to Britain, and cabled advice has been ieceived* from him indicating that all objections on tlie part of the Homo federation had been removed for the cpming season, and that the “Foxon’’ pack will bo accepted by British buyers.
