(Uiirnld Correspondmit.) The fortnightly meeting of the dramatic and entertainment circle of the Patntahi Women's [listitute wis held yesterday afternoon. There was a gooil attendance, a pleasant and profitable time being spenl in reading two plays and the rehearwil of items for the' birthday,party of the branch next month. At t'ho close of the business a dainty afternoon tea was dispensed. There was a well attended meeting of parents at the Patutahi School on Monday afternoon, when arrangements were finalised for next Friday's children's fancy dress ball in aid of the sc'hool .funds. The function is being taken up enthusiastically by the parent*, and the pupils are busy rehearsing folk dances. Mesdames G. V. Smith and George Scrngg and Miss K. Walker have leu for Auckland, where they will attend the annual Dominion Conference of Women 's Institutes. There was a frost of seven degrees lit Patutahi last night. The following team will represent the I'atu'ahi School in their final match in the Primary -Schools' Country Rugby competition, first round, against Manuluke to-morrow: —F. Bovson, L. Buller, 11.
