POISON GIFT HOAX
JOKE PLAYED BY SISTEE STATE COSTS INVOLVED (Pit Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Tiic elements of another poisoning mystery surrounded the posting to a Strath Taieri -girl""recently of a packet oi cuke. This girl, who had been reading iocc.nl similar cases, became alarmed. She sent the cake to Dunedin for analysis and informed the police.
The analysis showed the cake to he quite pure; and the police traced the parcel hark to the recipient's sister, who had been playing a practical joke, knowing her susceptibility. However, the hoax has cost the country some money in the analyst's fees and the dispatcli of a detective.
