VISIT BY MR. COATES
USEFUL DISC USSIONS

Yesterday Mr. J. G. Coatcs made a one-day visit by aeroplane to Brussels for the purpose *of discussing trade relationships between New Zealand and Belgium with representatives of the Belgian Government. He was accompanied by Dr. G. Craig. On arrival back in London, Mr. Coates said he was not yet iti a position to disclose the details of the talks. He added, however, that the discussions had cleared tip minor contentious points which, if allowed to drift, might have had serious consequences, and the way had been paved for a continuance of the fruitful economic relationships between the. two countries.
