BLENHEIM, this day.
The Marlborough Power Board has decided to take preliminary steps for raising a loan of £22,000 for the erection of a second standby plant on the outskirts of Blenheim with a view to carrying the loan during dry weather' periods at the Waihopai hydro. A proposal to link up with tho Nelson district's Cobb Valley hydro scheme was rejected on tho grounds of heavy cost.
