WILLOWS CLEARING

TARUHERU CREEK

Willows clearing, in Taruheru Creek bus been discontinued until next season.

Reporting on this to the Cook County Council to-day, the district engineer, Mr. 0. 0. Thornton, wrote that wollow.s clearing had boon completed this season from Mr. Pilmer's below Hansen road to King's road. Work had now ceased until after the sap had risen in the trees to be removed in November, The letter suggested that the council should make provision for maintenance of the work done. The cost would be very light if attended to .systematically. Possibly £lO would cover the first year, and if done regularly in the dry season should diminish as time goes on. It was decided to undertake the maintenance.
