POWER BOARD DISPUTE PROTEST TO MINISTER (Pur Pres* Association.') m, PALMERSTON N.'jTWIS day. “We are concerned because- it might be a matter of life and death," observed Mr J. K. Homblow, chairman of the Palmerston North Hospital Board, at a meeting yesterday, when -mention was made of an incident at midnight on June 30, when the switches were drawn a't the ManawatuOroua Power Board's sub-station, ■plunging the city into darkness till the city’s own generating plant was able to take up the load. The hospital was in daiicness for a quarter of itn hour. . There was a general desire by tiie Hospital Board to find out who was to blame, and it was decided to ask the Minister of Health for an inquiry as to why the current was cut off without notice tyeing given.
