Rumania, placed a lien for unpaid taxes upon a 17-year-old peasant girl. Her father, living in the village of Nadasd, was far in arrears ol taxes and had no properly which could lie leached. A formal notice of the lieu was (lied, and a day set for “ auctioning ’ ’ of the girl, to the highest bidder. A higher revenue official heard of the ease while on an inspection lour, cancelled- the lien and reported the matter to Bucharest.
