s ' .TOLLY CARD EVENING (Herald Correspondent.) I Verv successful was the flag five-hun-J di'ctl card evening held in t.lio■ library on ; Wednesday last. Arranged by the I Women’s Institute, the. party proved as popular and as entertaining as ever and ! was much appreciated by the local residents who attended and by visitors from Te Puia Springs. Supper which was all that, could be desired was served by institute members at the completion of play and the occupants of the winning table were recipients of prizes banded to them by the president of the institute. The successful quartet was Mrs. J. J. Anderson, Miss J. Konuke, Mr. C. E. Nurse, and Mr. G, M. Dewes, while the two ladies who obtained the highest, number of points were Miss D. Lewis and Miss It-. .vYbarehinga. The prize-winners were congratulated by the president, who also thanked evervone present for their support. In reply, Mr. W. 11. Bradley, said a few words of appreciation in reference to the enjoyment of the evening, and the hearty singing of “For Thev are Jolly Good Fellows, ’’ followed by "Aulcl Lang Svne” and “God- Save the King’ brought a most jolly evening to a close.
