STRONG COMPETITION (Received July 13, 11 a.m.) LONDON, July .12. At tlie wool sales, 0773 bales were offered, including 0208 from New Zealand. About 8754 bales of Australian and New Zealand were sold,, with strong home and Continental competition, especially home. Prices were fully maintained. New Zealand sales: Scoured merinos, Roolesby, 24i1; half-bred, TOL, 231 d, average 22i}d; greasy crossbred, DOT/EE, 12d, Bld. The Bank of New Zealand has received tho following advice from London: “The wool sales continue with keen competition and the opening rates arc fully maintained. Current- rates for greasy wool in good average condition are as follow: Merino, 60/64’s, 15d to 16d : merino, ordinary, 60/64’s, 17J,d t 0 14d; merino, inferior, 60/64’s, lid to llAd ; halfbred, 66’s, lid to 12J; 50/56 s 9id to lOd; crossbred, 50’s 83d to 9fd, 48/50’s 8d to BJd, 46/48’s 7J,d to 73d, 44/46’s 7Jd to 7Ad. 40/44’s 6’d to 7d, 36/40’s 64,d to 6Jd.
