MAORI TOURNAMENT Gisborne, Const, and Bay oi Plenty Maori (pains which will take part it> the Jairawhiti Maori Hockey Federation’s annual tournament to he held at Omahu, Hastings, next week, will he on the move during the week-end, and it is expected that the assembly will he completed by Monday afternoon, ready for the commencement of games on Tuesday morning. This week the Tamntea Hockey Association held its annual tournament for Hawke’s Bay Maori teams, and the results will he of much interest to Gisborne and Coast, Maori players in view of the fact that most of those in the Tamntea tournament will be competing in the big tournament, next week. At the close of the section play, the teams stood in the following positions: Cadies’ Section.—Hma', Jangiora, Knhuranaki A and Runi, 7pts each, Knhuranaki B and Hikurangi, ]pt each. In the draw for the play-off, Huia beat Tantriora and Rum heat Kahuranaki A. Tn the final, Rnru beat Huia, 2 —o, leaving Rni'u ladies the winners. Men’s Section.—Tangiora A 6pt.s., Tangiora B and TTnia 4 pts., Hikurangi and Knhuranaki 3pts.
