HEAD OF AIR INDUSTRY
.LONDON, dune 4. Sir Robert McLean, one-time railway chief in India and for the past seven years in charge of the aviation interests of Vickers, Limited, was last week appointed chairman of the Society of British Aircraft- Constructors in succession to Mr Herbert J. Thomas, of the Bristol Aeroplane Company, who had held the position since early in 1933. Mr Hugh Burroughs, of the Gloster
company, was elected deputy chairman laircraft) and Air Vice-Marshal A. E. Borton, of D. Napier arid Son, Limited, deputy chairman (engines). Mr John Lord, of Sandors-Roe, Limited,-was again elected treasurer.
