DEMAND MAINTAINED
LONDON WOOL SALES (Received July 11, 2 p.m.) LONDON, July 10. At the wool sales, 10,210 bales were offered, including 3165 from New Zealand. About 5679 bales of Australian and New Zealand were sold. There was a strong demand, especially from the home trade, and opening rates were fully maintained. New Zealand sales: Scoured, Richmond, 23-jd* scoured halfbred, Glenmore, top 2318, average 23d; slipe halfbred lambs, Belfast, I6d, 15d.
Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Company are n receipt of the following cable message about the London wool sales: “60/64’s, New Zealand Merino, yielding 48 per cent., none offering (102(1); 56’s, yielding 64 per cent, 10d (918); 50’s, yielding 70 per cent., 98 (Bjd) ; 48/50’s, mixed prop, and carding, yielding 72 per cent., BJd (7-2<l); 46/48’s, mixed prep, and carding, yielding 74 per cent., 7;]d (7id); 44/46’s', prep., yielding 76 per cent., 7|d (Yd); 44/46’s, carding, yielding 74 per cent, Vd 40/44’s, yielding 75 per cent., 628 (63d); 36/40’s, yielding 76 per cent., none offering (nil).” The prices shown in parentheses arc the opening rates of the series just closed.
