CREATING CAPITALISTS
SMALL INVESTORS’ FUNDS LONDON, June 4. The capital owned by small investors in Britain to-day exceeds £3,000,000,000. This figure was quoted bv Lord llill’o when he spoke at. the centenary dinner of the Coventry Savings Bank. The only real fault of the capitalist, system, said Lord Ijifi'e, was Hint capital was in toq few hands. They should do all in their power to increase- the number ..of capitalists—of men and women with a stake in the country. As a result of -such institutions as the Coventry .Savings Bank, and the more enlightened policy of manufacturers, and the growth of the thrift habit, the process of creating capitalists was proceeding rapidly. It would ensure that the nation wouid continue’’to progress by evolution and not by revolution.
