INVENTOR’S DISCOVERIES ( POWER BY WIRELESS NEW YORK, July 11. Dr. Nikola Tesla, holder of 700 basic patents, celebrated his seventy-ninth birthday by revealing the seeniingly incredible auvntices he is making in the field of eleetro-pitysics. He said he . had completed - studies which “knocked the props’’ from under the relativity theory, lie said he had measured the velocities of the cosmic ray from Antiires and found it £0 times greater than the speed of light, which relativity proponents contend is the maximum speed in the physical uitiverse. Dr. Tesla described two felectical inventions. One is an apparatus by which mechanical energy can be transmitted to any part of the terrestrial globe. Hu said it had many practical applications, as providing a new and unfailing means of communication and a safe means of guiding ships at sea. The other invention he described as a new method and apparatus for producing direct current- without a commutator, whereby aeroplanes and even loiries and railways, could be operated by electric power from a disconnected station.
