OBITUARY
THE REV. EDGAR WARD FORMER P.B. RESIDENTThe death occurred at Mount- Albert on Tuesday of the Rev. Edgar Ward, formerly vicar of Waercuga-a-hika, ami more recently ministering to the Matawai, Puiiirnru, and Kaitaia Anglican congregations, before taking a cure at Point Chevalier, where he remained from 1929 until his retirement- some time ago. The late Mr. Ward was widely read and a man of original lines of thought, who in his later years evolved a treatment for one of the more destructive o( human illnesses, and gained wide notice hy his exposition of his theory of treatment. He was in negotiation some time ago for the exploitation of the course in the United States, where medical men had shown deep interest- in his theory. The deceased had four sons, one of whom died abroad not long ago. Mr. R. D. Ward, lately on the staff of the Kaiti School, was a son of the deceased. Mrs. Ward survives her husband. NURSE E. S. Mr Andrew John Mathoson, one of the bebc-kno.wn business and sporting men of Greymouth, died this week.
