Moderate to fresh south erly breezes were general. The bam meter had fallen sharply since vestor day. Temperatures at 9 o’clock were: Auckland 45 degrees, Tamanga 49. Opotiki and Fast Cape 50, Gisborne and Napier 47, and Wellington 44. Rough seas were reported at Cape Pal User, Castlepoint. and Hast Cape: elsewhere" moderate or s'lfiooth. Last Night’s Forecast An anticyclone over (lie Tasman Sea and New Zealand has been losing its intensity. Pressure is still low to the north,, while a slight depression has been passing in the south to-day. Winds, strong south-easterly north of Kawhia and East Cape, and strong westerly to south-westerly in the far south; elsewhere moderate and variable, but, .southerly soon prevailing and freshening somewhat up the East Coast. \ Seas, rather rough to rough north of East.
