SLIGHT INCREASE
DOMINION UNEMPLOYED FIGURES FOR MARCH (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The report of the Unemployment Board on registrations of unemployed as at March Hi shows a slight increase in the total number of males wholly or partly a charge on the unemployIncu t' fund. The increased registrations .are, no doubt, due to the slackening off in seasonal work. The total of 00,345 reveals an increase of 211 on the corresponding figure recorded in the previous month.
The number in receipt of part-time employment under scheme No. f>, or on sustenance in lieu of relief work, as at March Hi, was 32,415, compared with 34,348 on March 17, 1934. or a decrease of 1933.
The number in full-time employment. , but assisted by wages subsidies from the unemployment fund, was 17,1)30 on the same date, compared with -7,70(1 a year ago, :i decrease of 9836. This makes the total number who ; are a charge on the unemployment ; fund 4)0,347), as compared with 62,114 a vear ago, or a total reduction of 11,769.
