BANK TELLERS ROBBED
DARING STREET HOLD-UP
THIEVES. SECURE £1725
(Received April 6, 11. a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 5,
A sensational armed hold-up was carried out at the entrance of the Collins street west branch of the Bank of Australasia to-day.
While two tellers were carrying a bag containing silver and notes valued at £1275 from a tram into the bank, two armed men .accosted- them and demanded the bag, at the same time covering them with revolvers. - The tellers, although armed, .were so startled and non-plussod that , they parted with the bag before they actually realised what was going on, and the robbers made their escape in a high powered sedan car . which was waiting nearby. (Received April 6, ■ noon) An arrest has been made in connection with the hold-up.
