NUHAKA NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) The mortal remains of the late Mr. Leonard Clough were laid to rest in the Wairoa cemetery on Friday. There was hardly a family' in the district that was not represented, there being a large assembly of people to pay their last respects to one they had learnt to know so well. A short service was conducted at the house by Mr. Brockelhurst, the deceased being a member of the Bretberen, after which the hearse proceeded to the Wairoa cemetery, followed by'a long< retinue of cars. The service at the graveside was conducted by Mr. S. Dalgleish, after which the ritual of the Druids Lodge Wairoa was read by the A.D., Bro. Ashburn. Messrs. E. Bluck, W. Boyle, R. J. Gold stone, D. A. Hughes, R-. Steedi and W. Walker, members of the Druids Lodge*, acted as pallbearers. Beautiful floral tributes covered the casket, among which were wreaths from the members of Che Nuhaka Labor Party and Nuhaka Public School and staff. Mrs. J. Millar is visiting New Plymouth.—Mrs. Gambrill, sen., Gisborne, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. W. McKenzie, Nuhaka.
