■The death of Miss Goorgina Runciman at the age of 02 recalls a gift of: particular .historic interest, a flag which belonged to the Cambridge Cavalry Corps from 1871 to the time that the corps was disbanded in 1883. The flag was made and presented to the corps by Miss Eunciman, and when the corps disbanded it was handed' to the Cambridge Public Library. The motto on the flag is "Our hearths and homes." The corps was formed to protect the homes oi! early settlers against hostile Maoris.
