White, Lolo ma in their recent sad bereavement. The secretary presented an interim balance sheet, 'winch denoted it healthy condition of tlie finance. Messrs. G. Shaw and F. [lidding were proposed us new members. An application for the showground was received for April l, hoin the L.D.o. committee, for tiie purpose of holding its annual hui tail, sports. This was granted. The secretary of the Niihaka Spoits Club. Mr. J.’Gold stone, applied for the use of the grounds on .Faster Monday for the Nuhaka sports meeting. This was also acceded to. A controversy arose in respect to lilt* award of the Mahia Hunt Club .Shield, which is competed for annually at the Niihaka A. and Show for members eligible, j An interpretation ol the society's ruling pertaining to the shield was given and will bo strictly adhered to. Each competitor on entering the birdcage, will he required to hand his certificate, signed by the master or deputy master, to the senior, steward, before competing. A sub-committee was set up to go into the matter of taking some of the old tattle yards down and erecting a bird-' «age for horse competitors. Mr. Justice Johnston has donated a imp. the allocation of which will he determined later. A vote of thanks was accorded the donor. Reserve champion tickets will be awarded in. all cases where a champion ribbon is awarded. The second prize, of all dog classes was raised to ss. The catalogue was'revised, now classes being added and others deleted. The alterations are as under:— Class 7. to read 15 hands or under; class 8, under 15 years: class 9. under 12 years class 13 ami 14. to read under 15: class 37. pen of three ewes other than Southdown most suitable for export, market. Several of the dairy classes were deleted. Two new pig classes were added, one boar and one sow. any breed, most suitable to produce orogeny for export trade. Mr. T. \V. G. Tombleson donated a special -prize of £1 5s for the best boy or girl rider under II years of age. A vote of thanks was accorded the donor.
