30,000 CHINESE PERISH COMMUNIST BUTCHERY SHANGHAI, Feb. 16. News of one of the most astrocious butcheries of defenceless Chinese by Communists has reached Nanking in a report from General Li Tao-Chen, divisional commander of (lie. anti-“ Red” forces engaged in bandit suppression in •Novthern Szechwan. General Li Tao-Chen reports that it is estimated that 30.C00 men, women, amt children were slaughtered in the most cold-blooded manner in the city of Wanynen, Szechwan, before the “Reds” evacuated the, city under pressure of the Government troops. Within a radius of 35 miles the, population lias been almost completely wiped out.
The trail of the marauders is marked by smouldering ruins. Death by starvation is facing the survivors unless relief is immediately forthcoming.
