STRANGLING OF GIRL
WARDER FOR TRIAL ALLEGED CONFESSION (Elec. Tel. Copyright —United Press Asbu.) (Received Feb. 15, 12- noon) BRISBANE, Feb. 15. John Thomas McQuadc, 39, a prison Warder, was committed for trial at Rockhampton oil a charge of murdering Phyllis Muriel Reiger on January 16. Dotective Albeitz alleged that in the hospital on January 16, McQuadfe said to him : “She gave me a drink,; and as soon as I drank it l saw black. I grabbed her by the throat, and when l let go she was dead.”
A sensation was caused at Rockamptoti last month by the discovery oil a young woman’s body in a motor-car at the rear .of a boarding-house in that city. The victim, who had been strangled, was identified as Phyllis Reiger, aged 23, reported to be a very popular girl...;;-;; - - ;o -
