TRADE BY BARTER
DUTCH FIRMS' OFFER PRODUCE FOR WOOLLENS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Feb. 16, noon) LONDON, Feb. 15. A group of Dutch importers, anxious to barter produce for woollen manufactures beyond the quota limits, offered to take over £IOO,OOO worth of British fabrics if Britain agrees to accept an equal amount of Dutch produce. The West Riding Chamber of Commerce is approaching the Board of Trade and Ministry of Agriculture. The Yorkshire emphasises the growth, of trade by barter, despite the additional costs obviously giving advantage to many individual traders.
