Mount mid S. Kokay—when they were buried in a slip of sandstone rod;, while working on the Kaka road near 'Jiiatapero this morning. The accident occurred .shortly after 10. o’clock. A few minutes before Constable Skipworth passed in his car. He had bmvlv parked his car when he heard a call 'for assistance and rushed to the rescue. Mr. Mount was buried to the hips, and Mr. Kokay was almost completely buried. Two pieces ol rock estimated In weigh 2cwt. each were pressing on the latter's chest. 1 Constable Skip worth freed Mr. Mount' ami then, with Mr. Mount’s assistance, lie dug out Mr. Kokay with a shovel. | Mr. Kokay was suffering mainly from bruises and shock, and lie was removed to Wallace Hospital, Riverton. Mr. Mount was found to have severe bruises. It. was only by chance that Constable Skipworth happened to bo on the road, which is seldom used, and under ordinary circumstances the next person to have passed along the road would not j have been due till to-morrow evening,
